If you have a Tip or Question use the Info Request Form.

Make sure ALL programs are closed.  This includes the programs that are running in your system tray (the icons next to the time in your menu bar).  We noticed the installation can fail if the following programs are running:

- Lotus Organizer

- Virus Scanners (ex. McAffee's Vshield)

- Font Managers (ex. Adobe's Font Manager, SuperSigno)

- Tool Bars (ex. Microsoft Office Bar)

If something goes wrong with the installation make sure the following files do NOT exist in your Windows folder:

- Setup1.exe

- ts2algn1.cab, ts2algn2.cab and ts2algn3.cab

- ts20001.cab, ts20002.cab, ts20003.cab, ts20004.cab, ts20005.cab,   

  ts20006.cab and ts20007.cab

If one of these file do exists, you can delete them.  These are files of a failed TRANS Suite Setup.

Fuzzy Matching (also called Fuzzy Logic) is the technology that makes it possible to find similar sentences. 

If you for example search for a fuzzy match for:

This sentence was created at 11:17 on 19 December 2000.

and your Translation Memory has the sentence:

This sentence was created at 10:45 on 25 March 1999.

a good fuzzy matching engine will find this sentence and correct the numbers.

Trans Suite 2000 uses the FL2 engine (Fuzzy Logic Generation 2), which is developed by the Cypresoft Research & Development team, and is up to 5000% faster than the existing 1^st Generation engines.

The Trados TMX import does not support formatting yet.  You can make a Trados memory by using the 'Trados Format'-export.  In Trados, you will be able to import it, and the formatting will stay.

Delete the following files from your TRANS Suite folder.  

- tran2000.ts2

- network.loc

If you have installed the editor, DSU or align in separate folders, you must delete these files in each folder.

This will re-initialize TRANS Suite, which will recreate these files.

When I use the RTF or Word Filter, I get a lot of tags.    What can I do?

To prevent a lot of tags when using the Word/RTF filter, you can do the following:

Go into Word, select 'Options - Track changes' and click 'Accept changes'

To speed up the PowerPoint filter: 

• disable all the options in 'PowerPoint - Tools - Options - Spelling Tab'

• if possible, save your file as PowerPoint 97 (or higher) document

This will speed up the filter up to 200%

If you have Office 2000, disable the following options in 'PowerPoint - Tools - Options - Edit Tab':

• Auto-fit Text to Text Placeholder

• When selecting, automatically select entire word

• Autoformat as you type

This will prevent that the font-sizes will change when you rebuild the documents.
